Simple sauces vs lots of ingredients???

Definitely wasn't trying to nock the people that like the complex sauces, I just personal like simple and was just curious who else is in the same boat with me. And it probably does have a lot to do with my palate... all the complex sauces I've ever tried, it just feels like there's too much...

Simple sauces vs lots of ingredients???

So I see all these recipes with like 30 different ingredients, roasted this and that, blood of your fist born, etc... And I'm just over here with my peppers, salt, and lacto fermentation... Oh and a little vinegar to finish sauce... I don't know why but in the 10 plus years I have been making...

overwintering Enough light to grow to fruit in winter?

I may be wrong but I feel like I should be able to squeeze a little more out of this set up then if I was in a NO sun light situation. That window even in December gets 3-4 hours direct sunlight, and a few more hours indirect, and I plan to run the HID light 16 hours. The tomatoes you see were...

overwintering Enough light to grow to fruit in winter?

Ok, I know these are tomatoes so you have to use your imagination a bit... :) but would a 400w MH HID light be enough supplemental light to grow 6 or 8 pepper plants to fruit in the middle of winter? That is a 9 foot glass sliding door facing directly south. I live in zone 7A so days are short...

    lighting Turning Lights Off ?

I've ran my lights everything thing from 14 on 10 off, to always on 24/7. I have not seen any better growth past 16 on 8 off so that is what I run mine at and save some electric.

    Wide Spectrum Fluorescent Tubes

I've been growing for 3 years now and the only thing I use is standard flouresints and cfl's usually the 6500K ones. And to be honest as well as my plants grow I have no reason to buy the expensive "grow bulbs". Now keep in mind I only start my plants for 4 months inside then plant out in spring.

health What is wrong with my peppers?

Yes they look very healthy. Nice green color, no leaf curl, and the short stocky stature just means your giving them plenty of light. I think most people that are New to growing ether use to little light or place them to far away. But yours look good.

    another pot size question..... :)

Thank u all! MGOLD86, I realized last year that a 6 oz cup is way to small for peppers to stay in for 12 weeks :). I actually potted a few plants in 16 oz cups and they did way better. My plans this year were to use the smaller pots to start because I can get 32 in a 1020 flat then repot into...

    another pot size question..... :)

I have my pepper seeds starting now in coffee filters and there just starting to form hooks. I potted them up last year in 6 oz plastic cups and that worked ok but when trying to harden them off the wind knocked them over really easy and it got anoying picking them up all the time. So this...
