    2015 Pepper Hauls

I harvest often so I don't have a giant batch to show. But here's the small haul from today :)   Not all are pictured but what are in the pictures are Thai Hots, Wild Habaneros, Normal Habaneros, Normal Bhuts, Trinidad Moruga Scorpion, Trinidad Scorpion Chocolate. And the extra photo is of an...

pics From plant to product in 1 day. Bhut Jolokia. Updates throughout the day. Suggestions needed. Pics i

I've learned a good amount from this thread so far. I may decide to freeze most of them instead of pickling or drying; at least at this point. Thanks for all replies so far :)

Hmm. Maybe I will dry a few. Pickle a couple. And freeze the rest. Off the plant and rinsed:

pics From plant to product in 1 day. Bhut Jolokia. Updates throughout the day. Suggestions needed. Pics i

Am definitely interested in pickling some. I have a couple of really small jars for this to experiment with. I will be cutting them into rings. I'll probably use my standard brine recipe and add bigger cuts of fresh garlic.       I really don't know what i'd get the most use out of because...

pics From plant to product in 1 day. Bhut Jolokia. Updates throughout the day. Suggestions needed. Pics i

Hi all.   I have around 4-5 bhut plants. All of them are from different vendors and are at different stages in life cycle. I have one plant that seems to be begging to be harvested while the others are not ready. I feel that I have left these pods on long enough (if not too long), mainly due to...

pics Whiteflies taking over in Florida. Pics inside.

Apparently neem oil is the thing to try then.    I can post more pictures or videos if needed. The way this thing spreads is incredible. I've noticed a monstrous increase in spiders and lady bugs all over the garden. Apparently they like to feed on the white flies.

pics Whiteflies taking over in Florida. Pics inside.

Hey all.   This is the second year in a row at around the same time that whiteflies (I think) are wrecking havoc on almost all of my plants. I'm almost certain this is some type of whitefly infestation in south Florida. I'm trying to identify which type of whitefly species this is and what I can...

Frozen peppers and possible options? Pics inside.

Hah! Wow.  Does a dehydrator work that well over thawing?

Frozen peppers and possible options? Pics inside.

Never used a dehydrator before. I've been reading weird things like if you dehydrate super hots, you have to use a room and put a towel under the door because of the potency it gives off? I know nothing about it really but it sounds weird.           Yeah I was mashing the air out. Never...

Frozen peppers and possible options? Pics inside.

Hey all.   First time posting on this forum instead of the growing forums because I finally have some pods to work with!   :onfire:   I have a not-so-good tendency growing a little late in the season but I'm in south FL so I can kind of battle it out. The result is kind of a slow harvest, but a...

plant Lost identity of these plants. Rain smudged the marker off of the labels.

I'm leaning toward choc fatallii. Staring at google images, the choc bhut pods seem to look way more rugged and ribbed.

plant Lost identity of these plants. Rain smudged the marker off of the labels.

Hi all.   3 different plants here. 2 of them i'm pretty sure I remember a somewhat close identity. I'll start with the hard one first.    This plant comes with a back story that you can find in my post history. This was supposed to be brain strain red from Bakers Peppers (he replaced the plants...

    Yellowing Leaves

I think that some symptoms are hard to diagnose because two totally different things can cause the same symptoms. I'm in really hot south Florida and in the summer right now. I've noticed a lot of yellowing leaves and leaf damage to plants that are getting way to much sun and heat. I was...

Should all these be separated before re-potting? UPDATE #1: first 2 transplanted, photo update

Yes. Since I took this photo I added about another 1/2 inch of medium.

Should all these be separated before re-potting? UPDATE #1: first 2 transplanted, photo update

Update #1:   Split the first cell of 2 plants into small pots. Roots untangled easily when dipping them in water. After transplant, the plants drooped almost to the point of being sideways laying on the side of the pot. Then they propped back up within a couple hours. Deciding to not transplant...

Should all these be separated before re-potting? UPDATE #1: first 2 transplanted, photo update

Won't dipping them in water completely bare root each plant? Is it OK to re-pot completely naked roots into new soil?   I'm not sure exactly how they were seeded. As someone said above, they may have been grown separately and then just mashed together into cells for mailing.   I had always...

Should all these be separated before re-potting? UPDATE #1: first 2 transplanted, photo update

They were ordered from Baker's Peppers. Actually they were free since he sent me the wrong plants last year. I was only expecting 3 so I don't see the problem with receiving extra plants.    My only concern is damaging them upon separating. I shall watch and read as much as I can about...

Should all these be separated before re-potting? UPDATE #1: first 2 transplanted, photo update

Hi all.   These plants just came in the mail and i'm about to transplant. The mail order doesn't say anything about splitting each plant up into separate pots or spaces but they look pretty crowded. I'd like to split them but I've never split plants up like this for transplanting and don't want...
