seeds Aji Cito 4.5 Cotyledon Seedling MUTANT Pictures

I have a couple reapers with three cotyledons and a choc hab with three and there next set of leaves came out normal with the regular two leaves. Judy from pepper lovers gave me a pack of aji Cito as a freebie and one grew out with four cotyledons and a half. The half is really one but towards the end of the leaf it was split so it looks as of five. Now the next set of leaves is four, two larger and two smaller (which are a little harder to see unless you zoom in.
I thought this trait is Interesting and would like to share.

Here are some pics.

Maybe this article can explain ?

In tomato, two independent loci causing polycotyledony were characterized: thepolycotyledon (poc) mutation was mapped (Madishetty et al., 2006) and the mutant showed increased levels of polar auxin transport, suggesting that the cotyledon phenotype is a result of altered auxin distribution (Al-Hammadi et al., 2003). The defective embryo and meristems (dem) mutant also lacks a functional SAM and is caused by the mutation of a gene encoding a novel protein of unknown function (Keddie et al., 1998). In pea, three independent single cotyledon (sic) loci when mutated, give rise to single or fused cotyledons (Liu et al., 1999).

Below are pics of the life of my mutant aji cito 4.5 cotydelon plant this past season. It had 4 true cotydelon leaves with another fused to another, which is common with this mutation. Pictures are all of the same plant.

Couple weeks later around July. It started to put a ton more pods once I switched to my higher P/K nutes and did away with the higher N.

She will live on over wintered. It still has a few pods on it but Winter has it's toll on her. I will cut it back later today to about .5 it's size.
