Very good luck with your grow, Joe.

Do you plant in the little jiffy pellets or how dow you plant your seeds? heat mats, etc?
You are getting crazy good and fast germination going on there.
Thanks

thanks your friend Joe

Congrats on your germ rates.

As for the XP box, make sure you backup anything you want to keep, keep Java updated, and your fingers crossed ;)

More than likely you have a private IP address. If you open a command prompt and type ipconfig, hit enter and it will show something like this:
535.jpg

What you want to see is an address like mine a 192.168.x.x or a 10.x.x.x where the x is a number between 1 and 254. These are what we call private addresses and no one can contact you, it's almost like you're behind a firewall.

BUT where you go as far as websites are concerned, if you click on a link, therefore initiating contact the site can reply. And if if has bad stuff you can get infected. The main issue lately has been Java.

The only thing that would be able to get you then would be if someone develops a worm, a self spreading type of virus, and someone else on your network (using your ISP) catches it. All this depends on how the ISP set up their network.

My music server has XP, I intend on using it until it croaks. And I think you'll be surprised at how long you can use XP. One other thing, make sure your virus protection is up to date.

Good luck!

Joe, I have an unused (I am pretty sure I haven't used it anyway), legitimate Windows 7 key (bought two copies @ student pricing way back when). It is yours if you want it. It is meant to be used with an upgrade disk, but with a little trickery can be set with a clean installation. And I highly recommend a clean installation after backing up anything you need/want to keep. The performance gain is well worth it.

Then again if there is nothing Windows specific that you need, Linux Mint is a good alternative. Even uses a Windows style layout!

Haha okay. It's as simple as editing a single registry entry after installation and before you enter the key. I think CNET has an article on it. Just let me know and I'll email it to you.

Nice selection of seeds/plants so far. I wish you luck with the PINK TIGER (2) :woohoo: and the Maldivian heart habs. I have to add Australian lantern to my grow next year, I hear they're nice patio plants and bite size.
