AJs Backyard Pepper Porn 05-30-10

AJ, I knew you were working harder than before you retired. Awesome plants and yard, you certainly have beeen busy. If we could make it down there this year we'd take all those compost destined plants off your hands. I wish, not going to happen this year anyway. Great job!!!

AJ,

At Last. You are back.

Did I tell you that I am finally moving to Texas in August 3 rd week.
Whatever distance, I would love to raid your crop.
Watch out!!

(I found it is 189 miles)

Everything is bigger in Texas boys. Believe it. Very impressive AJ!!! It's nice to see a true professional at work. I can't wait to see what the harvest #'s will be at the end of the year.

Hoping for more updates.
Just curious, what kind of fertizers do you use throughout the season, and do you use a drip system or another watering system?

will post some updated pics in a couple of weeks...got some changes in the back yard layout..

as far as fertilize goes...after plantout, I use a standard 10-10-10 or 13-13-13 peletized fertilize and epsom salt....use about 1 Tbsp of both fertilize and epsom salt for each plant about every 3 weeks or month...

watering is still the old fashioned way...I hand water each plant...

Excuse me but why are you posting in AJ's thread? Oh crap it's you! Hi AJ!

Sorry about the hard time, just missing all of those wonderful pics and your advice. Looking forward to the pics. Take care of yourself.

Wow A.J that is one nice set-up my friend, like that rise bed from blocks that is good to make for peppers also keep the heat inside make plants to grow faster & no mess around just great.

Man I'd say you got it down to a science, When did you begin growing or get involved in growing peppers?

roflmao...I would expect no less from you Patrick...its fun when we can rib each other and know it will be understood as ribbing...

I started growing peppers about 11 or 12 years ago...BUT...I have watched and helped my father and grandfather/grandmother plant in the dirt all my life...

My grandmother was the true gardener...imagine this...

a little old lady in her 60s wearing an old timey straw hat tied under her chin (looks almost like a sombrero) with her hair wisping out from under the headband...dip of Garret Scotch snuff between her lower lip and gum...tobacco juice running down both sides of her mouth all the way down her neck to the collar on her shirt...Khaki, long sleeved shirt buttoned up all the way...an old heavy cotton full length skirt with petticotes on underneath...socks and brogan shoes...she was a site but was the best gardener I have ever met....that's who I really learned my gardening from...

I thought you may have learned a few things about pepper gardening here too ;)
You still selling plants AJ, or is that all over with for the year?

specifically about pepper gardening yes P...more knowledge about peppers than I ever imagined can be found in these pages...I have always said since I have been a member of this forum that if you have a question, the answer can be found in these pages...and if you can't find the answer and ask the question, one of the members knows the answer or will go find the answer....

plant selling season is over for me...I get a stray email every now and again from someone inquiring but I have let my ads expire...
