Bari Deli's Super Hot Giardiniera (Chicago, IL)

o.jpg

While this isn't a pepper product you can buy online, nor are the specific peppers listed under ingredients, I still wanted to share a local deli's giardiniera. This is not your typical giardiniera, and the 'super hot' label is spot on. I'm guessing the slices of pepper includes habaneros because just a small amount packs a punch unlike traditional hot giardiniera. The taste is good but the heat is the main attraction for me. I might mix some with my usual giardiniera because it lacks the crunch of celery, peppers, and carrots that goes perfectly on a hot Italian beef. It's $7 or so and will probably last you a while, but if you want to try some first you can get some as an add-on to one of their fresh sandwiches. I'm curious to see if anyone on here is familiar with Bari's.

Nice post. Bari is top notch - not to be missed.  Agreed about the mix in angle - its plenty hot but just not crunchy enough to stand up in a sammich.
