Brother can't decide what to name his new puppy.

I won't say a name.
All my Pooches earned their name.

Kimberly was my first Dog that was mine alone.
I like Kimberly as a name.
She was a Wolf looking Huskie Pure Bred that loved Everyone.

Second dog was Jelk-Indian friends named her when I lived on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
Told People it was short for Jelica.
It was really because she was rescued from a Puppy mill-Pure Bread Aussies/Blue Merl.

She had worms big time when I got her,Was treated the day I got her.

I lived in tent city,trailers-away from anywhere and kept my door open.
My friends saw her run out of the door because she had to take a dump.
Closest translation in English for Jelk is taking a dump.
I had another name for her,but I don't remember having her dump or pee in my place.
She house trained herself.
When she came back I would say "Good Puppy" the Indians would say "Good Jelk".
She liked Jelk...

Next was Shy Ann.
She was the runt of the Litter.
Very Shy as a Pup.
Most Loyal dog I've ever been partners with.
She saved my life one time.

Now I have Heidi-referre to the Shirley Temple Movie.
An Orphan...

Heidi made Chemo ,not so bad.
She is a chow hound though.
Loves people Food.
She knows when I am hurting and or had a bad day.

Come home pissed, then you are on the floor laughing at the stuff your buddy does to get you happy again.
Sometimes they just need to give you comfort by laying at your side.
Other times the figure out a way to get you happier...

I suggest, finding out your Pups personality, then You naming your  New Buddy.
You'll find a name that fits that the pooch and likes to be called by.
One of my Much Loved 4 legged friends took several weeks before their name fit-and She liked the sound of it.

Your friend is going to be around in general about 15yrs.

watch you new friends personality.
I'd bet you'll find a name for him that fits.
Ya don't have to name it today...

If you have kids, let them name it.

Don't get in a hurry.
Your new Pooch will eventually tell you what fits.

Take it slow.
i never thought anything people suggested,100% fit.

Dogs aren't Property, just something to name...

Long post, but My Dogs are/Were and are very special to me.

I assume the same with anyone who posted so far.

Don't give up on You deciding a name.
You'll find the right one for Your New Friend.
Pooch Pics look cool.
Looks like a Happy Dog.

Smoke

Thanks Smoke.  I'll tell my brother that.  Everybody keeps saying "have you named him yet".  That's why I made this post, because neither of us
could think of a good name.  Feeling a little rushed to name him.

I named my dogs the way smokemaster was saying... I let their names comes to them.  When I got Yuki, my husky, she was named Nanook.  I hated that name and she hated the life she had before we crossed paths (in an alley on my birthday) so I had to change it.  I was thinking to call her Milana after my favorite soccer team AC Milan, but after having her for a couple weeks and getting all sorts of suggestions I came across a Japanese site where I learned Yuki Otoko is how to say Abominable Snowman in japanese. Yuki also means reason/cause and happiness in Japanese which is fitting for her since she caused me to change my life for the better.   Getting Bacio was more planned.  I was waiting for the right pup to come along through the shelter and had plenty of time to think of names.  I knew I was going to get a male dog this time and wanted to name him Roenick, after a hockey player.  When I got the call about a chubby ~4 month old pup that was going to be available for adoption I drove 11 hrs to TN to pick him up.  The shelter named him Bazooka, but he was the most terrified lil thing.  There was no way I could name this poor lil guy Bazooka or Roenick... it just wasn't him.  I got the pup home and was laying on the ground with him.  At the time my household was bilingual, I said something in Italian about his mouth being all red like kissy lips, and started calling him Bacio (kiss) for the time being until I could think of a name. It ended up sticking and now my poor boydog's name is Bacio...

Your new Buddy will tell/show you what is a good name eventually...
You'll find a name that fits.
Might be one suggested,or not.

I'd bet you name him the best name ever.

Looks like a real lover in your pics.
I see a Lot of Belly rubs being needed in your pics. LOL
