This is the third plant I have had this happen to today. It is (so far) only happening to my red Caribbean's. Also noticing it starting on a 4th. whatever it is it seems to happen fast
The main stem gets this darkened coloration to it, it gradually weakens, and the plant topples over at this weak point.
I cut it off right below the brown spot and snapped this pic laying on a note pad to try to get a better picture
