Sorry about that, too hard to pass up. This happens quite often. You can find them on the outside and the inside of the pod. It's another pod that came in second in the race to grow biggest and best.
I've seen a few of these, does anyone know if this might be polyploidy?
It's very common in strawberries and most strawberries you buy at the store are polyploids. They get that characteristic 'cleft' (or sometimes multiple clefts) because they are essentially multiple strawberries mashed together from multiple sets of chromosomes
