Pam Jul 3, 2007 #2 I asked an Indian grad student at work how to pronounce Bhut Jolakia, and she said "Bahut (one syllable) joe la key uh". Of course she said it in this lovely melodious accent that I can't match, but she said saying "But" was fine.
