Will gnats make the plant grow a bit gnarly/twisted? what causes the weird deformed growth?

Funny you ask this, I've had a few twisted sprouts come up, no idea why and there's definitely no fungus gnats - I'm wondering if the heat mat is too high, have turned it down a couple of notches and will see what happens - let me know if you find an answer

Its not bad, a few of my harold st barts have some funky looking leaves. I like my girls to be pretty
