Dehydrating

Does anyone have an Excalibur dehydrator? Does anyone know if the front cover Is supposed to seal?

nesco here , ninja pro for powdering , i've got my powder vacuum packed with a silica pack and kept in the deep freezer outside 

Vacuum packed? In food saver bags? I thought about that but worried about the powder getting sucked out as it vacuumed out the air. I like the freezer storage idea a lot. I use mason jars. Whenever I open a jar to get some out, I stick it in the microwave for about 10 seconds to heat it up and then put the lid on. As it cools the lid will pop down and vacuum seal the jar. My batches never last more than 6 months so I haven't worried about long term storage but this year I'm planning on quadrupling my plant count if not more. Need a better plan

Straight up nesco and cheap coffee grinder. I'm of just starting out, only done two batches of powders, but both these tools have worked wonders

Has anyone tried the vacuum seal attachment for sealing mason jars lids onto the jars?
