chinense Differences between Bhut and Bih Jolokias

Hi all,

I was gifted a Bih Jolokia plant last month by a generous THP member. There are some pods remaining on it that are turning red now.. almost ripe. I have it overwintering indoors. I see "Bhut Jolokia" all over the forum, but seldom see the "Bih Jolokia." Was wondering a few things:

1) Why more Bhut's then Bih's
2)Flavor and heat difference
3)Do Bih's come in different colors too?
4)Anything else interesting to know about the Bih Jolokias?

The Bhut Jolokia is bigger in size Hotter maybe…
The Bih Jolokia has smother skin while the Bhuts has rougher skin
The Bhit Jolokia has less aroma that the Bhut jolokia
The Bih has a very close c.annuum falover
While the Bhut has strong C. Chinense
The Bih produces more pods per plant… the plant size it smaller and shorter
The Bih is simply a generic version of the Bhut jolokia
Only one color of the Bih jolokia out there the red
Bhuts have red, yellow, brown, purple…. White…. Bule J
So basically it’s a samll Bhut with slightly different characters

Bih Jolokias are smoother and I agree with Judy, They do produce more per plant. The bhut will give you that gnarly look. Both are extremely hot, in my opinion...
