chinense Found some Fresh Naga Jolokia at the grocery store

Hi Guys,

I picked these up from the local Cub Foods here in MN yesterday.
They were avaialble for a short time last year also. This is the pepper that got me excited about superhots!
I used 1 pepper to make some Bhuna Gosht last night. It was delicious.
The remaining peppers are pictured here.
Price was about $3.50

I hope some of you can find these locally too.

Cheers!

I'm with Lucifer, down in Hell...uh, Miami. We get nothing in even specialty stores but the same tired rotation. I envy ya, MNhots. Thankfully, some friends just brought me back some really interesting pods from Guyana.

Does your store serve a population of chile-eating South Asian or other folks? I'm wondering how Cub Foods got so brave and exotic in the land of Red Pop and Pop-Tarts.

Thanks for introducing me to Bhuna Gosht.  It looks like some good, hearty, potent stuff.

Place to buy super-hot peppers locally [Twin Cities]? Chowhound discussion

I'm actually a bit outside the city. Mostly just mutt whiteys around here ;)
Minneapolis has several Cub foods and they might just carry the hots at my location because the other stores do?
I have no idea if other stores do have these. I'll take a look sometime soon.

It was my first time making the dish. I will try it again when my tomatoes and peppers are ripe.

I have friends visiting Guyana later this month. I have been promised some interesting pods. Fingers Crossed!

What did you get your hands on?
