Greetings from Chicago

Hey everybody,
Recently got into growing peppers. This spring I mixed up seedlings and due to some squirrel related incidents, I wound up with two habaneros instead of one hab and one jalapeno. I can't say I was upset, because my yield was over 75 habs and loved finding ways to use them.

My favorites by far were:
  • Whole hab (sliced in two) into a bottle of tequila for habanero margaritas
  • Chopping them up and throwing them in my smoker to dry/smoke them. Then threw them in the food processor to grind into some nice smokey habanero flakes. Excellent on pizza, pasta, and just about anything else.
One hab was in a raised garden and is now dead due to the Chicago winter, but the other was potted, and is safely inside my chilly but survivable deck.

Looking forward to learning more and growing more types of peppers this summer!
