Greetings from Sydney!

I agree. so, you don't see it as a problem if I write it as chilli/chillies? will US-based site members know I'm referring to hot pods, not bowls of beans and ground beef?

Chili con carne is a spanish dish americans call chilli whereas chile is a Sth american country. What they call a pepper, we call a capsicum, and so they have chili peppers they use in their chilli & pepper in their salad, but not the same pepper they use on their eggs. For the sake of the forum I say any of the above is a hot pod & i'll need another beer

Grow List update version 5.0

well here it is, the fifth and undoubtedly (not) the last version of my 2007 Grow List:

http://www.thechileman.org/growing_...81,1874,706,1133,1373,1379,1346,1364,1769,204

I've gone from a possible 5 or 6 varieties with a max of 23 plants to now a potential 40 plants from 13 varieties and all to be grown in containers.

as you can see, I like my habs! I've got some other varieties that I will have to wait until next year:
Rebentona
Scutaba
Peach Hab
Burkina Yellow
White (Jelly Bean) Hab
Red Hab
Thai Birdseye
plus a strange Orange Hab that is thin and pointy can't work out what it is so I saved some seed and will grow a few next year (too many superhot exciting ones to grow at the moment). they look a lot like these http://www.thechileman.org/member/r...ny&origin=Any&genus=Any&chile=1&submit=Search only regular orange colour with similar heat to Orange Habs, good number of pods about 1 - 1.75 inches in length, no I didn't take any pics. anyone know what they might be? I bought the plant from a nursery and it was just labelled as a habanero and was about 6 inches tall.

Save some space for a few birdhabs chilliman - I tried another pod few days ago & they're going to be hot & hab flavored. It had 10 seeds so just waiting for 1 more to ripen then I'll send seeds. Should be just another week or 2.

Don't need much space for them though - they fit 2 plants to a 100 mm pot & reach 6" high. Haven't had 2 pods the same shape yet.

sounds like a chile garden in one plant :) you might be onto something there to maximise variety and save space!

birdhabs, can't wait.

another cross I have been thinking about is Bhut x Cayenne...

What is it with the time delay on the Jolokias..mine grew buds like they're about to flower, then does nothing for 3 weeks. It's messin with my head.

Im doing a Siam x Cayenne .. not only to try and hear people pronounce it, but I think it'll taste good too :P

I've never heard of these two, what are they?

I can't find any reference anywhere for the Scutaba, that's how they were named on the seed packet - Simpsons Seeds - UK

they're not the Lanterns and I don't think they are the Aussie Lanterns either, not quite as pointy or as big in the shoulders, more a constant shape from the shoulders then rapidly tapering to a point at the end. I had searched there also, thanks for looking.
