Greetings from Washington DC

My father in law has been growing peppers for a few years in his garden in Jacksonville, FL. Last year, he took up making homemade hot sauce with the peppers he was growing, and it was PHENOMENAL. He's growing Thai Dragons, Red Savina, Chocolate Habs, and Bhat Jolokia.

I've always enjoyed hot foods, and after my brother and I shared some of the hot sauce, we decided we wanted to make it too. This summer, we bought large quantities of habaneros from a local farmer, and bottled up 53 bottles of hot sauce last weekend. No watering it down. No vinegar. just real hot sauce. We've got enough still fermenting to do another 60-72 bottles, and are looking to grow our own peppers this year.

I found this site last week after searching for info on growing peppers, and have been practically addicted to it since then. Figured it was time to join the conversation!

Greetings!
