Growing in Compost

I had 2 yards of this same compost sitting in my truck for about 5 days until I got a chance to spread it yesterday. As soon as I started shoveling it, steam rose out of the pile. It wasn't hot, but slightly warm. It was cold outside yesterday morning, otherwise I don't think it would have steamed. It's really good stuff, and I've had great results from using it in the past, but I've always worked it into soil or mixed it with soil for a raised bed. Maybe you could pot up 1 plant into it while waiting to plant out and see how it does.
