How r ur peppers going in Perth west oz?

ive come to the conclusion the potting mix i got from a landscaping supply place down in cockburn is shite....my seedlings havnt grown in 3 weeks, they just losing their first leaves and havnt even got true leaves yet...

Sigh, going to throw it all in the garden and get good stuff again from good life. I only got this stuff as i was down there and they had liek 6massive bags for 30 dollars or something..

Either that or its just too hot for seedlings to bother growing.

I did have a test though of about 12 razzamatazz in 12 different pots from seedlings. 6 pots had generrous amount of blood and bone in it. These ones have grown substantially more than the ones without.

I've gotten a whole tray load of soil the landscape supply guy said was perfect for growing chilies but... it wasn't :( Can't trust them.

As sown will say 1st pods r not always true to form

Buy a ph kit $15 and check it may just need a bit of a tweak , any pics ? It may be two dense and needs something to airrate it , cud be a shit load of things but play and experiment

If they seedlings it just might be to rich, cut it with sand. It should smell like a rain Forrest then u know ur on a winner

Last bit good bacteria , bacteria , bacteria ! It's the key but hard to balance

Do you reckon we'll actually see any of this?

When they guess that far ahead it can easily change. I've given up on listening to "possible rain" forecasts. Everytime I turn off the retic because of possible rain, it doesn't rain and my plants wilt whilst I'm out.

I know, these uni students are useless. Smoking too many of those funny cigs.

I potted up 3 plants because it was too crowed.

All in the same mix. Manure, sand, compost, vermiculite, perlite and a hand full of pelletised chook shit. The 2 on the left (Fatalii n Yellow 7) lost all their leaves and the butch didn't?

The 2 on the left were in part sun and the butch was in full sun before I transplanted. They were in full sun when they lost there leaves.

Here's a photo, hopefully not much longer to go now. So tempting to pick it off for a taste, haha

Mustard Hab

Hey guys, bit of an update on my chilli patch - all these plants were given to me by Megamoo

c1.jpg

The patch. Now protected from the dog and (not pictured) covered with shade cloth.

c2.jpg

Most of my plant's new growth looks like this. Wondering if it's the sheep sh*t I added to the sand/soil mix? Maybe over watering? Have just watered them today - first time in a week..

c3.jpg

New growth on the hot fish

c4.jpg

This choc bhut is the exception to the rule, no nasty new growth on this one.. seems to be loving it.

c6.jpg

This Hab Rojo is also doing really well. The new growth is not quite as gnarly as on other plants

c7.jpg

Hot Fish

So yeah.. they are all taking off and have gone a nice green (they look lighter in the photos than for real!) but there's something they aren't liking.. I honestly haven't watered them very much at all but I'm thinking the sheep poo in the soil, combined with a layer as mulch might have over-fertilized them ? hopefully they get better haha.

Wow they are looking much better! :) Thanks for posting pictures, I've been wondering how they were going.

After I gave away those and others I discovered I have mites on my older plants. These ones weren't in close contact though and the badness looks more like thrip damage or something to do with nutrients or watering. They may just need time to settle in and spread their roots way out.

Unless someone else has any other ideas I would advise just watering them when you think you they need it with regular water, no special additives, and see what they do.
