Thanks, I did email THS Co with a request about the name I put in this topic.
They didnt have a clue what I was talking about.
So the name "Phutt Gwari " is the same animal?
If so Ill try Neil again

Not quite the same... I grew the Gwari Put chiles last year, and I thought they were about as hot as a green serrano. The Shishito is mostly sweet, but every now and again will kick out a pod that has some heat. Cheers!

Never been keen on this pepper. Tastes astringent.. It bites like quinine. Contributes no flavour nor heat to dishes.
Also zero heat and it only tastes good in tempura with good quality rock salt on it.

I've tried it many ways cause it's readily available in Japan, tempura is the only way it's good.

i have the Genuine article, they look much like a pepperocini. the name mean "Wrinkled old-man" in Japanese
pm me if interested

thanks your friend Joe
