So trying to keep a few traditions alive that I grew up on as did my parents and theirs and so on....
Of course my spin or take on many of the dishes usually involves heat of some type.
Black eyed peas soaked over night with a ham hock in the water
Onions, garlic, jalapenos and spices as the base
Ham hock added back and add the peas
Add chicken stock and off to slow cooker
Sink full of collards, the stock for them has been simmering for a few hours with a ham hock, onions, garlic and spices
Ham is in the oven and Ill post pieces here and there...
