Now that's a happy plant!

Tried to go to the facebook link, but I don't have an account. So it hates me ..LOL

Anyways, great grow this year! I sure hope the season lasts long enough for all of them to ripen.
Thanks, pretty sure all the pictures there are in here as well just easier to see the build part of the square foot garden and soil I put together. I really hope I can get enough days to get those all ripe as well but it should be easy to cover at least that area!

Lookin great Chris!  That BB Douglah Yellow is pretty sick man, I have never seen anything like that.  I am like you, I only have to water like once or twice a year...maybe.  This season I haven't watered once since like May.  We got so much water that the ground just retains it well.  Those sq foot plants are freakin amazing man, I really cant believe they have grown like that.  Simply amazing.

Now get to pickin!

Thanks Matt, I was and am completely shocked how well that 4 * 4 did/ is doing. I guess I have become a believer of square foot gardens for sure!

Very nice.  I can't help thinking, as I try to reduce my list for 2014, a few of these looks pretty similar... are you going to grow them all again next year?
I think next year I will grow most of the 7 Pots and most of the Bhuts, going to cut down on 90% of the Thai plants since so many are really similar. I can tell differences in the 7 Pots for the most part. I do plan to start again on a couple that were OP and use isolated seed for 2014 and see where that takes me.

That is a great photo, Chris. I'm sure a lot of people will be happy to use this as a wallpaper. I see your brain strains are not fully true in form as well, I have the same thing with the Yellow I'm growing. Which of the 7 Pot's do you like the most in taste and yield?

Some of my brains are perfect, others not so much. I had to use that red and yellow since there were only ones ripe when I wanted to do photo. I think the 7 pot burgundy is my favorite of the group! What is funny is my yellows look more like yellow brains on a regular basis.

Avast great video … keep dem garden protectors happy and safe thru next season. Have you spotted any more egg sacks? And if I were a Mantis I’d be celibate, lol.

Happy pirates day!
No egg sacks yet but I did take pictures of a male trying to mount a huge already pregnant female yesterday. She was about 4 inches long!

Your garden is still in full-forward mode Chris! Lots of green pods waiting to ripen and good harvests meanwhile. I had a Chilhuacle Negro plant that had a stem like your BB yellow Douglah... it didn't seem to affect pod production, but it had a few variegated leaves early in the season. Eventually it dropped those and they never re-appeared. Funny... Nice vids of the Mantises too.

Checking out the weather forecast for this weekend I see another major front headed our way from the Mississippi valley and the Gulf. It should get to us sometime this afternoon or early evening. Looks like you might need to batten down the hatches...

Yeah not looking forward to the storm. My hopes are the compactness will save the plants and if not it wasn't meant to be! The mantis are in full swing right now, took pictures of 4 different ones yesterday within 20 feet of each other. I love having so many in my garden! Hope all is well up north!

Love the mantis vids!

I don't see many around here but found one on my truck and placed it in the garden.

Do you have "walking sticks" there?

Have a great weekend!
