Juanitos 2015 grow

Intro
Besides just fun this year I hope to sell enough to make this hobby pay for itself. If you see something you like I will probably be selling plants or pods at some point in the year, check my website.

I really would like to do hydro dutch buckets in a poly tunnel but don't have enough money/space this year. My dad offered me his small garden plot in the his backyard across town it's about 400+ ft2 so that will be the main grow for 2015 instead of pots like last year(although i'll have a few still).

Updates: links to most notable updates here
germination / into pots
video update seedlings
transplanted outside
drip irrigation test
Some pods showing up

List:
A good variety of heat, flavor, color, and shape that I think will be very pleasing. It's a bit overwhelming to have all these varieties to keep track of and hopefully my wife doesn't kill me. I cut out anums and fruct and wilds so i could better focus my list. Jals and Poblanos are really cheap at the mexican store near me so there is not much point in growing them myself anyway.

and lucy, maybe forgot a couple, its 31 varieties.

Equipment:
Lights:
For starting the seeds until last freeze they will be under DIY led bars i made. Going for efficiency here.

3in pots for sprouts
1020 trays to hold pots and help me water quicker
ground, viagrow grow bags 5 or 3 gal for extra potted plants
Fan:

Fertigation:
Mixrite 1% fertilizer injector
orbit timer
drip line or drip hose(haven't decided yet)

Area:

outdoors: garden plot (link a pic here)

Media:
indoors: berger.ca custom mix(from local nursery) 25% bark, rice hulls, peat, etc
outdoors: topsoil/clay, no analysis

Lol, what variety is that?

here is a sneak peak at the garden,
string lines where the rows go
1/2in poly line where the drippers will come off
i planted a row for fun even though it may be too early and i did 0% hardening off.
and some onions in the back.

Its all looking good Jaunito
I've found the Aji Brazilian Starfish to be more hardy then other baccatums .
They bounced back in no time after my transplant blunder and if anything became more vigorous .
I did find it strange that they did not have the vining growth until put under stress .
My Bahamian Goats have been champs form the start selected six culled the weaker ones the plants I picked I like the genetics they have shown .
I love all your plants they look really great
Hope you &your dad have a great year!
Forgot to mention I had a dream about a spider that size it was crawling on me woke me up lol

Is this your first year growing in that area?

Looks like peppers where in a different area last year:

yeah the first pic is at my house, my wife hated all the plants "taking up room where we could do stuff"  :liar:drunk:   :shh:

my dad has all that extra garden space and he usually only puts in like 5 or 6 tomato plants so i told him i'd fill er up =D

have you tried low-stress training the ones that arent branching out? just tie down the stock horizontally and it should grow side shoots

Plants look great so far. I'm curious to see how the non-hardened ones fare. Are you abandoning the grow bag setup at your house altogether, then?

i may keep a couple next to my grill,
if i were to do it again with long season here in Oklahoma would get 10 gal bags.
planting in the ground is just so much cheaper

Your whole new setup looks amazing juanito!

Keep up the good work I k ow you are going to see some beautiful results this year.

Butch x Douglah brown pods are brutal. Growing some I got from Mike as well as the red ones from Buckeye. Really looking forward to the Douglah x Butch T Choc of Chris'. Have six of them going.

Ground planting is much much cheaper. I'm getting two entire pick up truck loads of mushroom compost for $40 to mix into the dirt compared to the cost of bales of Promix for my containers along with additives. Jealous of your weather. Has been raining the past three days here.
