Leaf curl

The leaves on several of my plants are curling length wise and up. What causes this? I've tried fertilizing but no help. I don't think it is due to to much or to little watering. Please help. They are in direct sun light.

Are you able to post pictures at all? Able to get a better sense of what might be going on with your plants if you can post pics of the leaves/entire plant. Sometimes too much water can be an issue but you say that shouldn't be the problem. Might be pests (aphids, mites, etc) or could be just superficial leaf curl from stress or super hot dry summer days.

they also do that when they are too hot..it can be the plant trying to reduce its surface area in the sun

They are in 5 gal buckets. I'm thinking maybe the sun. Just went through the 100 degree days. Should be cooling off in the next week or so. I've looked for any types of pest and haven't seen any.
