Wonderfull plants again! Did you make the crosses by yourself? Is cross polination between every capsicum specie posible?

Hi Lee,

Great chilli plants you got. I was wondering you have any description on the Bode Vermelha and Laranja. Ie, Heat, flavor and color when ripe.
I was lucky enough got some extra chilli seeds from Judy (Pepperlover) that was labeled Bode.

Thanks

Mark T

The crosses where performed by a good and respected friend who's a botanist. He's helping us out with the C.flexuosum as well :-).

Not all capsicum species interbreed with each other. The species that do interbreed are mostly very related. Based on that information there are several groups of capsicums. On the other hand there's still very little known about most Wild species. More info on http://www.wildchill.eu

Haven't tasted them yet but will put some notes down for you. About pod color the name already indicates it, like Bode vermelha which means red goat, bode laranja oranje goat. There are more like Bode Roxa, purple goat. Confirm that vermelha pods are red, the bode Laranja is still green though so can't really tell. Will come back later on this one..

Hi guys,

Haven't been "on line" for some while now so here is a short update.

Roof terrace. Plants are still in a decent shape and most fruits are finally matured. The summer was very bad here but late September early October we had some very good weather with high temperatures up to 25 Degrees C. Will do a final harvest this weekend and will post more harvest pictures. About time to clean up the place
