Mixing own potting mix?

Since my peppers are popping up like crazy now, I'm going need to plant some inground, SOOOOOO my question is?? What should I use for garden planting??

I use my native soil amended with pine mulch to loosen the clay like soil. My soil my be good and rich so I use no fertilizer or compost and get a lot of peppers.

Dark clay, nice!!! Sounds rich. Pine bark mulch will work great.

Do not use too much, and really do not fertilize.I know from experience that they grow way better in just native soil and no fertilizer. By the way your soil sounds it is full of minerals, the pine bark will loosen it up and get more air flow. Use only pine. Just get some pine mulch that is not nuggets and has some small pieces.
Just till really well.
