Salut Sunshine!
I have one and I am using it to germinate my seeds. I then transplant to soil, when they have secondary true leaves.
Sofar all is going well with them, I am on my second set of seedlings.
I found that buying supplies for it rather hard, but there are a few people on eBay selling Aerogarden items (IMO the easiest way to get the supplies!).
There are pics on my GLOG...

any aeroponic equipment works great, if you get the nutrient solution correct.

there is a forum post called ghetto aeroponics or something similar, a bunch of members contributed what they have done.

my issue with the aerogarden is the small airstone. not that it won't give good bubbling but after awhile they break or/and get clogged. i use the same cheap airstones in my converted mayonnaise jars and keep a pack on hand. walmart $1.68/4. the second larger issue is convincing yourself when to pull the plants out and soil plant them - that damn urge is always there to just let them get bigger but soon roots get tangled and the plants out grow the aerogarden, so be disciplined.

but the benefit is having a nice, clean indoor growing system with lighting and little maintenance other than monitoring water levels from evapouration.

you can get your nutrients at Canadian Tire:
