Just loved setting up the watering system for the plants.Talk about taking the worries and time needed to gauge when your plants needed water.I was watering before 6 am work which meant the plants on the front end got their needed drink.Where the ones on the backend always got cheated because I had a timeclock that needed to be punched. The 2nd best garden addition was my cultivator that attaches to my 4stroke weedeater motor.Fits my beds and has power.
Wouldn't it be great to have a little 1/4" shower over night
and 75˚ and sunny during the day every day or two! I could
grow peppers in a climate like that!

I have one of those 4 stroke motor trimmers - getting a
cultivator for it sounds like a good idea. How deep can you
cultivate with it? Also a chain saw attachment would be awesome!

Not only growling like a boss , you eat like a boss too ;) and rightly so , meatloaf looks superb Paul and so does the pod ..... he he ......

All looking good here across the drink buddy , keep up your outstanding work....

Okay, Sim, you are embarrassing me    but thanks for the kind words.

Looks like a few days of Summer weather is just around the corner -
Hope you are getting some decent weather there, my friend.

I love "fire-and-forget" irrigation setups Paul... Good job! Bonus that you're picking pods too. Way to go!

Not sure I would call it "picking", Rick But
the pod is delicious. Am going to have some
on a burger tonight!

I'm okay with automation- now I just need some
AI, and I'm good to go!

hail in the forecast today Paul.
Dang, you could have gone all day without saying
that, my friend . Here's to dodging the bullet!

I may actually plant something before June!
Hope that's still looking good for you, Jeremy.

The hot weather has been tough on my plant-outs - days
in high 80's, but at least nights are warm - 60's.  A cool day
today, then warming back up to mid to high 80s for Mem Day
Weekend.

F5 PDN x Bonda Ma Jacques getting some much needed sun.

The Scorpions have lost most of their leaves, and have really
pretty much stopped growing.  But the sister pod to the one
I mentioned earlier has ripened up nicely!

Will post some more pics later on today.

Paul,

I planted out a lot of them yesterday before the wind hit. They got a not so warm welcome to their new home. It was brutal, actually but they seemed fine this morning.

I feel your pain, my friend.  The wind really blew the long
branches around, but they seem to be okay this morning.
This has been a tough start for the papers - cold nights
followed by hot days and then more hot and dry days and
wind.  If they survive May, they only have the June doldrums
to go through, then Summer season!  Here are a few recent
pix.

A couple of yellow, wan-looking examples. Most of these
leaves are gone, now.  This is a Fatali.  I think the incessant
rain and cool weather leached lots of nutrients from the
containers.  Have side dressed everything with either
Chicken or Steer manure and compost, and fed with
some high PK fertilizer.

MoA Bonnet.

Some pod action.  The F5 PDN x Bonda really getting to its final color.

The Aji Amarillo are podding right along. Rather than
conical young pods, these are cylindrical and pointy.
I chose the seeds from a 61/2 inch by 11/2 inch pod.
Looks like these are following suit.

Thanks for checking in - will try to get more pix up soon.
Have been busy trying to get three month's worth of yard
chores done in two weeks!

Thanks, Tristen - hoping for the best.  Am enjoying this stretch of nice weather.

A few random pix:

Fatalis, almost nude, but have little pods on them, some
of which are starting to elongate.  Maybe there is hope!

The first Fatali pod getting bigger.

Here's one of the Aji Lemon Drops - pretty skimpy looking, but
two ripening pods. This is the one with 1/4 of the canopy missing.
_DSC3226web_zpsf7jxau7c.jpg

This BOC from Refining Fire has a mutant growth habit.  Every
node is just packed with flower buds and growth tips, very dense.
It takes a while for a branch to emerge from the chaos.

PDN x Bonda F5-1 has lots of little pods.  Some beginning to extend.

MoA first pod ripening up.  Another plant that got hit pretty hard.
_DSC3229web_zpsqipcucxj.jpg

Five Aji Amarillos in #2 nursery pots.  Just an experiment to
see if I can get pods from them in the greenhouse this Fall.

Scorpion hammered by weather showing some nice new growth.

The ripe pod on another Scorpion.

Doing the same with these plants in #3 pots, as with the Ajis above..

Thanks for looking in.  Summer is creeping our way.
Hoping to avoid the June doldrums this year   ;)

Excellent update. I love the BOC formation. I hope all those flowers stick. Hammered scorpion is going to bush out well. I have no doubt you'll get pods from them pots.

Oh, how was the PDN x Bonda pod?

Awesome looking pods Paul , and showing nice rich vibrant colours, keep ya chin up buddy mother natures always throws something at us every season  plants will come back stronger healthier , your soon be picking bigger yields ;)

Nice healthy plants Paul.

I know they got beat up some (join the crowd), but they will come back big time. That and you have all summer to attend to them with your mad gardening skills. ;)

They will make you happy!
They improved a lot over the past few sunny days.
Into a cooler, wetter 7-10 days ahead, typical June weather.
If we have a good Fall season, we'll be okay.  If not, probably
won't get a lot of pods.

Your grow is looking awesome, Scott!  Even with the hail, you
and Rick are rockin' the season!

Great to see the pods on the MoA ... as Scott said they will come back and I bet bigger and better
Hoping for better, John.  I may have some of them in too much sun.
The best looking plant is in the shade most of the day except for
some intense afternoon sun.  Will post a pic of the pods on the LOTG page.

Gee Paul... we both need some more degree days! My Yellow Scorpions look like your Fatalis right now... skinny and deeply fluted. Spring is here, now c'mon summer! :P
Indeed, Rick.  We have been dry since May 18th, but not much sun
until Sunday this week.  We have a cool spell ahead, so things will
slow down a bit.

How's the polytunnel holding up for you this season?

Almost all of those flowers drop - no way the plant could have that
many pods on it.  The BOC have not set any but baby podettes.
All the plants have put out some new growth with a few days of sun;
they look better since I cut off most of the old leaves that survived the
near freezing and subsequent hot days!

Your set-up is awesome this season, Charles!

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Sim.
I will really be glad when Summer gets here for real.
I suppose you are feeling the same way.

Thanks, Randy, appreciate the visit!

Yeah, the 'Beaves' (both men's and women's teams) are
a bright spot on the Oregon sports scene.

We don't have many of those
