Pepper help

I was given a pepper plant from a local nursery. I was told that it was a Portuguese pepper. I was hoping it was actually a Piri Piri. It appears that it is not. At this point it looks like a jalapeño but more pointy at the bottom. I know that it is not a jalapeno because I ate one of the immature pods. Could someone help me identify this plant?

Definitely not jalapeno. Maybe Fresno?

They look like Hatch peppers to me

Try it is what they claimed which is a hot portugal pepper. We sold them at our nursery and that is what they looked like with some more wavy tapered.

Looks like a Fresno. It has thinner walls than a jalapeño.

Thanks for coming to the site that will give you your answer, there are some incredibly smart folks on here!  Too wide on the top for a Jalapeno.
