PH meters

Can anyone recommend a good, cheap (or at least reasonable) soil PH meter that will get the job done? I dont need a $100 unit but something that will do the job.

Also, how the hell do I use it? lol ...

Ive been reading but theres a lot of conflicting info out there. Ive always just grown by feel but after I tried a new soil ammendment on my last grow and it tanked I think I need to step it up and monitor PH. This will be used for indoor container growing.

Thanks!

I got mine from ebay, cheap and seems to do the job. It comes with calibration powders that you mix and use to set the meter, after that just dip the tip into the water that you would like to test.

This is the one i have- http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Digital-pH-Meter-Tester-0-14-Po-cket-Pen-Aquarium-New-/230576091875?pt=AU_Pool_Spa_Beach&hash=item35af67f2e3

Also you can get ones that you just shove into the soil- http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Soil-pH-moisture-meter-tester-295mm-long-electrode-/230660667659?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35b472790b

Or real cheap litmus paper!- http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/80-Strips-Full-pH-1-14-Test-Paper-Litmus-Testing-Kit-/190471708061?pt=AU_Wholesale_Beauty_Health&hash=item2c58ff9d9d

Some people don't like these because they deem them too cheap but i have found that the one i bought works fine, if it blows up after a year it's still a good deal in my book!

You can find all kinds of soil ph testers on amazon or any hydroponic web site. here is one to link to.

With indoor growing, your the boss! most mediums are normally ph neutral, unless you are growing indoor tropicals, or "acid" loving plants just buy the best indoor potting mix you can find , and if your doing a large indoor grow take the time to do the research, cost can increase , especially when potting up...good luck
