Pipper Nigrum (Black Pepper)

Has anyone tried growing Pipper Nigrum? I've read they make a good indoor plant during the winter, and does well in the shade outdoors during the summer, but lack details on their care, or a good source of starts.

Or maybe it was Jamaican Pimento (Allspice).

I'm real interested to grow both of them. Like you, I found for either one there's very little info on home cultivation.. I'm eager to see if you learn anything!

Will do! I don't know anything about growing allspice, except the little bit I learned googling around...

allspice would probably be ok indoors with a lot of light.
I have a tree in a pot in san diego, ca outside that is about 8 feet tall.

as for piper nigrum, I've planted seeds but never had any come up.....

From what I've seen on line starting from seed is hit or miss. I'm hoping on getting a start from a vine, but if you can get seeds to sprout I may change my mind.

I probley not go with allspice than. I would need a greenhouse.
