PokPok's grow update

Hey guys. I just wanted to give you an update on my first ever grow, to talk about how I'm doing things and problems I'm running into. I don't think I'll be able to update as often as if it were a glog so I've chosen to do it here.

I'm growing Scotch bonnets, reapers, chocolate scorpions, chocolate habs and chocolate 7 pods, at least the seeds are supposed to be those. I wasn't a member of this group when I got the seeds and I didn't understand the importance of seed quality so I got all of them on ebay, mostly from Windsong. I didn't have any germination problems though.

Seeds were germinated in rockwool cubes in a propagator and transfered into 10cm pots full of 100% Biobizz coco mix. I water them every other day. More on EC later.

The seeds went in on February 10th. They started germinating 7 days later. I think a scotch bonnet and a reaper were the first to show their faces.

It's not on all the plants but all plants have really bumpy lettuce-like texture. I've been feeding them pH 5.8 / 0.6 EC solution once every other day since they were potted. I've read about similar posts in this forum . General consensus here seems to be either underfed or overfed plants. Yes, they are both ends of the spectrum. I decided to measure the run-off of the most severely affected plant and it was pH 5.8 / 0.3 EC. So I decided I was underfeeding them because there just didn't seem to be enough nutrients in the medium. I gave one plant 0.9 EC solution until I had the same amount in the run-off. We'll see what happens in the next few days.

Also please feel free to let me know what you think.

I just noticed today that one of the 7-pots split into two stems and started flowering. I'll probably nip the flowers. Where I live, I have enough time well into November to get a big harvest so I just need them to grow big now.

I also pruned the leaves of one of the smaller reapers I have. I don't think it'll end up in the final production system of Autopots due to limited number of pots I have but I just wanted to see how it'll behave.

Looking good PokPok ;)

Thank you!

It's time to start hardening these guys off. Daytime temperatures are around 22C-72F these days and it'll keep going up. Mostly shade and a bit of noon sun for a couple of hours for the first few days. I plan to keep increasing their exposure each day for a week. By that time the night temperatures will hopefully be over 15C-59F constantly. I was enjoying a cold michelada too while watching my plants. :)

Thank you guys. I'm pretty happy so far.

8 plants are going into Autopots next week. I'm going to fill them up with 50/50 coco and hydroton. I'm going to Thailand for 2 weeks towards the end of this month so I got a 225 lt tank to keep them alive during that time. I hope all will be fine. I'm hoping to build the Autopot system in the balcony this weekend.
