The only reason it is easier to do bends on a Strat is because the bridge moves with the bends. That's partly why I have the claw screwed in a good bit on my American Strat, I want to get rid of that trait.

Mine strat is blocked. I can bend the 2nd string under the 3rd and 4th and maybe 5th and still stay in tune.lucilanga said:

Strat thread is at a standstill until the lacquer cures enough to handle. Been about a week now. Plus, I'm waiting for good weather. My only work space is outside, and it's been rainy the past few weekends. Here are some Ibanez pics. I bucked conventional wisdom and put the 85 in the bridge, and the 81 at the neck, and it sounds GOOD out of my little Line 6 Spider IV 15 watt amp.
Cleaned the fretboard, treated it with some linseed oil, and put new strings on.... Dean Markley Blue Steel .009s are my favorite.
It needs a fret job, but I'll save that until I have a good workspace.
I checked the intonation, and that high E is still a little sharp on the 12th. but I'm afraid to dial it out anymore... don't want that saddle flying free on me.

I use D'Addario XL10's only. Best string I have ever used and I have never had one break. I think Texas Blues said the same thing a while back.THECHRISE said:
