Potato Blight...

My dad had these plants. I told him to dig them up to keep them from spreading.

Does this look like potato blight? Looks like it to me. It was spreading to his tomatoes too.

The roots and potatoes looked ok. Just the top sides of the plant looked bad. It was spreading to the other night shade plants. I told my dad to keep this away from his peppers.

Ugh.
 
Potatoes, Tomatoes, and Peppers are all very close cousins and thus are vulnerable to most of the same diseases. Get that thing gone and pronto. Be sure to wash your hands after handling diseased plants before touching any healthy plants.

My dad dug those up at his house. I told him at first sign next time spray with peroxide to kill spores.

. . . and don't plant potatoes and tomatoes anywhere near each other. We've removed all potatoes from the garden and have them far away from any nightshades.
