Rocottos in Florida

Given the fact that these come from a cooler alpine climate in the wild, is anyone having any success with them in central or south Florida?

wickedmike would be the person to talk to. he claims it's very difficult (we're in miami though) but he has had some success I believe

In Tampa.

I have been interested in this as well (I love the taste of rocotos). Seconding Wicked Mike having great knowledge of this battle.
  • I have two Locatos plants going this year that seem pretty promising, no flowers yet.
  • I already have pods on a pineapple rocoto, but I'm not sure how long that will last.
Others germinating, or hanging inside at the moment:
  • Rio Huallaga Rocoto
  • Costa Rican Yellow Rocoto
  • Aji Oro
  • Mini Rocoto PI 387838
I can post pics if interested.
