Sandwich of the Month

Hey y'all. A recent discussion with THP about Cuban sandwich's in another thread has inspired me to begin this thread.

What is a sandwich? According to wiki...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandwich

I myself shall endeavor to post a Sandwich of the Month for every month. This month I tip my hat to one of my favorite sandwiches, The Cuban.

While I encourage y'all to post up your Cuban for SOTM, for the sake of popularizing the thread, feel free to post your sandwich. Be it BLT, turkey sub, gyro, po'boy, etc.

Some rules.

1 ~ Meet the criteria as linked above according to wiki.

2 ~ True, burgers are sandwiches but as we have other threads devoted to them, we will not include them here in this thread. No burgers.

3 ~ List ingredients and methods of how the sandwich was put together.

4 ~ No matter if it is a classic reuben or tuna salad, include a heat ingredient.

5 ~ Pics are mandatory. Talk is cheap. Show us the money!

6 ~ No tortillas. We have taco threads already, and that also means no stinkin' "wraps".

7 ~ Have fun.

I'll post up my sandwich shortly.

Bon appetit!

meat loaf has been a thing of late, w/ these carb-saving 'fold-it' meat handles ...

we've been using uber lean ground sirloin or maverick or whatever, sometimes mixing it 50/50 w/ ground turkey ... i can't say i mind the turkey, it keeps things light w/ panko ...

and coarsely chopped veggies ...

we use some egg, and the same Prego 100% Natural (usually the mushroom flavor, one) that doesn't have vinegar ... D doesn't like anything w/ vinegar - no mayo, no ketchup etc ...

and then they get bot'd, this time w/ muenster, which melts nicely ...

pics from a couple of nights this past week ...

so awesome, and genuinely pretty healthy ... even when you have two ;) ...

Meatloaf melt #2 looks great GM!

But that measuring cup full o' panko? You actually measure panko? For a meatloaf?
But hey, I'm with D, as I don't really care for vinegary items, either.

Speak to me more of this ground turkey/ground beef marriage you're officiating!!!!

Is the turkey cheaper, flavorful, textural, or healthier? This is an intriguing idea! I think I might be liking it!!!!!! :D

Is it only worthy for meatloaf, or would taco meat be wanting this blend to?

again... i have questions.....

yrs ago i didn't get down w/ grd gobble gobble, but i'm not minding it at these days at 50/50 ... def lightens the texture of it, but i'm digging that, actually ...

looks gooe grant. i love ground turkey, its great for making burritos i like to add a little ground pork and a couple eggs, rice ,cheese, tomato, potato. been making lots of them for breakfast lately.

There's a reason Americans eat chicken 364 days a year, and turkey 1.

Not a huge turkey fan. It tastes gamier than chicken.

Okay....

Back to topic here.....

I've decided to make Bacon Potato Bread......

for my wicked cool hippy Melt.

(trust me now, hear me later...itsa Hippy Melt....from my favorite Bohemian Cafe.....
(from "back in the day" - which says it all....)

im going to assume you are eating store bought chicken, and that taste like crap compared to farm fresh, and only wild toms taste gamey for turkeys and it very mild.and thats cause of all the running they have to do,you get a bird and fattten it for 3 weeks turkey is way moister than any chick ive ever had.
