Shurb's 2014 GLOG

Well, I guess I'll get started seeing as I've now got my first hooks well before season start.

So, I got me one of them heated propagator thingimadoobawackies and popped in 3 Habanero Orange seeds and 3 Whippets Tails for a test.
The Hab's decided to work it out. No go on the Whippets, but I think that's because it dried out at one point. Oh well, one pod has thousands of seeds, so all good :D

Here's the Habanero Orange hooks in soil next to an avocado the missus is trying to get started.

And here they are. Ain't they cute?

Here's the indoor setup

Top: Them ones I did dun just showed you.
Middle: Pubes - Red Rocoto, Yellow Rocoto, Rocoto San Isidro, Canario, Mini Rocoto.
Bottom: Habanero Chocolate overwinter. It got a little bit of the stuntie during the season, and it only gave me one good pod, but I decided to let it recover inside and it's going well!

Habanero Chocolate (I'll get a better pic soon, I promise!)

Good stuff, man. Looks like we're growing some of the same stuff. Following this, and looking forward to comparing notes.

Cheers dude.

Rocoto San Isidro
Looking really healthy. Good growth in 2 weeks. Moved to a more shaded area.
Lots of buds forming with purple in the centre on quite a few of them. Flowers should be appearing soon.

Hey man, plants looking good! Big leaf red rocoto variety is most probably giant rocoto. Mick.
Ah interesting if that's the case! I didn't have any overly large ones in the pods you gave me, so maybe they're a cross? Either way, just happy that they're going well.

Yep, could be a cross. The giant rocoto strain that I have does not produce huge pods but I suspect that this is because it has always produced huge numbers of pods at a time. This is a milder variety, spherical red pods with a dimple at the base. Time will tell, I guess.

Brian, mate, how the heck you been? :D I see you got your pubes out in full glory for the world to gaze upon. They're looking good!

Stoked too that you took my advice on a couple of them toms. In the real world it's not very often that people listen to much of anything I say, so yeah, real world or nets world, whatever, I feel special now haha. :D

Funny, I heard the San Marz is a bit delicate but turns out it's a tough as balls beast. I recently started a new one so I chopped my old one down to a stump in prep to rip it out and within days the bloody thing started shooting out again every which way! Oh well, will just have to suffer two plants, eh....?

Know much about the Honeybee? Ended up with seeds myself recently and got a baby one going now. Dunno if I'll end up seeing any fruit, though, toms are really doing shite here ATM.... :(

lol gassy
yeah I'm surprised that they're going so well

yeah since potting up this san marz, it's going ballistic. Might help that it's been hot and wet, who knows?

no idea on the honeybee, the missus chose that one. I just went with the wapsi, san marz and roma.

not being a big tomato fan, I'll see how they go and let you know lol

We've been copping storms the last few days. Lots of sun and then boom, rain everywhere. River even flooded over the bridge. 6 inches of rain in one night.

Plants have been enjoying it though :P

Plants love you Brian :D

Seriously though your laziness shines through. Chilli plants hate to be loved too much.

So yeah good work being lazy.....
