Size at 3 weeks?

Hey guys. Here is a couple of my plants at 3 weeks. Most are about the same size, just want to make sure I'm on the right track

Also, the 3 black Hungarian are the only plants out of 50 or so that are that purple... Is it just sensitivity to the light, or are they that color?

Mike.

Not doing fine, doing great!

I haven`t grown Black Hungarian, but I have Black Pearl and the more sun they get the more purple there is on the foliage.

Hey Mike, when you say three weeks, is that three weeks from planting the seed or three weeks from the sprout breaking the soil?

Lincoln.

Well I looked back at my glog and the seeds hit the dirt April 2nd. They popped a week or so later. These pics were taken Saturday, so that would make them 3.5 weeks from when they hit the jiffys. My supers were planted on April 17th and I just re-potted some.

Other supers, still in jiffy @ 10 days

I put 3-4 seeds in each jiffy. I had 100% germ rate, except for the bonda ma Jaques, they didn't come up at all...

Thanks mate. Your seedlings planted on 17th look to be a tiny bit more advanced than mine which were planted on 14th. When I planted on the 14th it was my very first attempt and I did not give them any heat to keep them warm. I reckon they took about 9 - 10 days to break the soil. I planted another batch on 27th and this time I placed the germination box on top of my wireless router which seems to always be nice and warm and have already seen one of them break the soil in just three days!!

My wife already makes fun of me any time I'm taking pictures of my plants, but one of these days I'd love to take a picture every day for the first few weeks to show progress. It always seems so slow, then one day I look at them and they're little plants instead of seedlings.

I had some ornamentals last year that were that shade of purple, but they didn't get deep purple until they were out in the sun. What are you using for light?

That'll work just fine for a while. I used 2 65k and 2 35k. You won't see any major growth under them tho. Wait till there potted up andand get some sun!
You can go flowering with 6500K CFL. I don't know for neon, but with CFL their life time don't stand very long and then the light turn like a 3500K after a while. At the moment I've a Mimosa pudica & a Venus flytrap flowering very well under a 6500K.
