Smoking frozen peppers

I have a couple of pounds of peppers in the freezer. I was wondering about smoking some of them. Is it better to smoke peppers before freezing them or will thawed out previously frozen peppers smoke up fine. These peppers will be for sauce. Thanks for the replies.

Cells burst from the frozen water, and they get super mushy. If you tried smoking them I feel like they might just fall apart.

I haven’t tried smoking frozen peppers but I smoked up some fresh peppers then froze them.
