So i put my seeds in Thursday and was wondering whats the hottest i want my soil to even reach for my peppers to grow?

I know that 85f is what you want to aim for.

a few pics to go with

As long as you don't let get over 90 you should be ok. Germination rates drop dramaticly when you go over 90.

I wouldn't want mine to get above 90. I think 80 is the sweet spot. You are getting a late start on your peppers so the sooner you can get them up and growing the better.

Couldn't see if you had one in your setup (very nice by the way) but they do sell digital thermostats for germination trays. I think I have mine set exactly at 85 degrees.

Yea I have a digital therm at first I had it just sitting in the lil green house box but I just now put it down in the soil to get a more accurate reading.

It also. Came with a heating pad.

well im guessing the mat keeps itself at a certain temp but the thermostat dosent let me control it just lets me know the temps down in the dirt.

First off, love the avatar. GO BLUE! Here's hoping for great things this year.

The heat mat will stay at a fairly constant temp depending on the ambient temp in the room, but definately keep an eye on it as they sometimes will get too hot. Lost an entire tray of seeds last year when the thermostat went bad and was reading in the high 70's but the soil easily got over 100.
