SR? Brainstrain?

I am very new to this all. I have a few questions that I hope to have answered by the veterans here. There are many pictures of the SR strain and the Brainstrain on here. 1.How does one tell the difference? 2. How are they different? 3.Are they genetically the same? 4.Do you select the phenotype you want from the plant and keep growing out seeds from it? Again I am very new to this and am interested in learning as much as I can. I am sure these questions may sound dumb to most. Thanks in advance for any answers.

The SR strain 7 Pod and the Brain Strain are related in the same way the T. Scorpion and ButchT Scorpion are. The Brain Strain 7 Pod is my variety that I have selectively saved seed from only the hottest most wrinkled pods each year and attempted to improve the strain. The first year I grew 7 Pod there was just one plant that stood out above all the rest for pod shape and that is where this strain originated. Link below from the first year.

Thanks PRF. Guess nobody better to enlighten me than yourself. Looking forward to growing these both. Thanks again for the knowledge.

That's pretty cool. I did not know that this was your baby Cappy. It's an amazing looking pepper, but sadly I have not had a chance to try it out. It will be a part of my next years grow list though.

A lot has been cleared up for me. Still would be hard to visually ID them. Hope this doesn't turn out like other strains. I can see the snake oil salesmen trying to make some coin off of these.

like i wam working on Yellow Brain strain which i have been selecting and reselecting from Yellow SR i have had for while

Beautiful! I second Beaglestorm. Nice to see you back posting pics!! I'm very happy to hear you had success with the Evergreen 7 Pots in the F2 generation. Did you have any plants that produced fruit unlike those pictured?

Nice Yellow Brain Strain too.

Chris

Wow Judy.......that yellow Brain Strain looks fantastic.....if you´ll add it to the website, I´ll order it for sure next year. I´m wondering, if the heat level is at least remotedly close to the level of the original red Brain Strain. If yes, you have something.... :)

By the way, thanks a lot for the extra seeds you sent with my order to Slovakia.... ;)
