pod Supposed to be Cayenne

So as the topic says its supposed to be a cayenne but I don't think so. Thoughts?

looks like either a big jim or jalapeno to me not a cayenne

looks very much like sweet cayenne that i've grown. a sweet pepper

It was a plant purchased from home depot and labeled long red cayenne. I don't think it's jalapeño because the peppers aren't smooth cones like jalapeño. The largest pepper is only 3" long..weird

It looks a lot like my Tequila Sunrise Peppers (I believe that's a trade name from Burpee).

If it ripens to orange I'd say that's it.

Looks sort of Big Jim, or sort of like certain types of Pimentos or Fresnos except with the latter they grow inverted, IIRC.

Looks like a Samuel Adams to me.

Kudos on being able to grow that. Must be one hell of a pepper plant

Update

So they have turned orange. The largest one is around 3". Most are only a couple inches. They are hot and taste good with minimal seeds. Any ideas? Could this be a hybrid of some sort?

^ Of course, anything could be. Sort of looks like what might happen if you crossed an orange bell with cayenne now that you mention it.

You did a nice job, that's a good looking plant. You made out OK as it tastes good! Buying from the big box store garden centers can be an adventure in growing . I think some people just pull the ID tags out of the containers for easier reading (we, the bifocal folks) and then just carelessly replace them in any random plant pack. Then there or the vandals, I have seen pepper ID tags mixed with 'maters, eggplant, herbs etc.Some of the garden center help are clueless to it.
