The European Eunion wants to ban heirloom seeds! Please read and subscribe!

I know this is kinda political and thus off topic for this forum. But it hits us chileheads and gardeners to the core. So I ask the mods to allow it.

The European Union wants to ban heirloom seeds for farm and even private garden use. There will be a penalty if you use saved, shared or bartered seeds. Only big companies like Bayer or Monsanto will have the budget to legally certify their ( GMO-)seeds. Small companies' and private gardener's seeds will be uncertified and thus illegal! Please share and subscribe!

Und wo ist dem englischen Original Text ?

Even if I do speak German, my level is not good enough to fully understand European Policies.

I read the text (in French) but I didn't see any reference to a European directive or regulation about biodiversity.

Do you have the legal source Armadillo ?

Here it is: http://ec.europa.eu/food/plant/plant_propagation_material/review_eu_rules/docs/15042011_options_analysis_paper_en.pdf
It's not a law yet. It's the parliament discussion paper for a possibly coming law.

On page six you find this:

"The Lisbon Treaty qualifies agriculture as being of shared competence between the EU and its Member States. It is obvious, however, that to a very large extent all fields

of agricultural activity as well as ancillary activities upstream and downstream, have been regulated at the EU level. This means that legislation is predominantly a role for

the institutions of the European Union."

The member states have given up their sovereignity as democratic states to a union the citizens don't have the slightest influence on. Im starting to understand the U.S.

Second Amendment...
