tomarto question

:oops:Oops I was wrong, this pic is likely a Giant Belgium the other pic(above) is still a Supersteak F1. The Supersteak's were much bigger and nearly flawless appearance. The Belgiums turned out good, just not huge like I had hoped.

Oh yeah, we know, you just wanted to wave a little tomato porn at the rest of us on this fine holiday morn.

"Oh dear, do I post a picture of my mammoth Supersteak F1 plant or my tomato-laden Giant Belgium? Oh dear, Oh dearie dearie me."

You know, I was thinking this morning about my grandmothers tomatoes...she used chicken manure for fertilize and 1"X2" pointed 6' tall stakes for her tomatoes...the plants were secured to the stakes by cotton strips 1" wide and about a foot long that were made from old flour bags...

Potawie,

How did you like the Giant Belgium? I'm trying to grow some of them, both because of their size plus they are native to Ohio - my home state. Hopefully, I'll be able to set one plant aside and clip blooms, leaves and other extraneous growth with the idea of growing one or two huge (3-5 pound) tomatoes.

Mike

I didn't have great success with the Giant Belgiums except for the one in the pot in the pic. I was expecting them to grow bigger for me, but at least they were tastey. I think they should grow well for you in Ohio
