what does inside of pod look like?
it does kinda look like 7 pot / scorpion, also kinda looks like a red hab.
I haven't harvested any yet. (that was my next question, are the red ones ready?) I'll pull one off, cut it open and take a pic. Thanks.  :)

These peppers are from 2 separate plants (pictured above) which I got as seedlings and were labelled as Trinidad Scorpion. These are my first peppers picked of the season. :)

I know ya always can't tell by the tail but if none of the pods are growing a scorpion's tail I'd at least say it's not a scorpion. My layman guess it's a habanero of sorts.

I'll do a taste test, one of these and a habenero to get an idea of it's heat.

I suppose it makes sense to use the same thread to identify my other plants?

This is supposed to be a chocolate trinidad scorpion.

thanks so much for all the help!!

Regular Scorpion peppers have kinda a leathery feel, and a Scorpion pepper taste is highly acidic and unmistakable.  Its kinda like eating a lemon or lime, you get that acidic taste and searing heat.

Good luck on your taste test and identity.

So I did a taste test with a few people today at my buddy's tattoo shop. A tattoo shop is a good place to find manly men who love spicy food and no pepper is too hot or at least that's what they say. hehe

First we all ate a slice of habenero for comparison. Then we all ate a slice of the not/maybe Trinidad Scorpion. I got a cool clean sweetness for about a second or two before the heat came. This pepper is significantly hotter than a habenero. I didn't get much feedback from the others in terms of flavour. One guy got the hiccups. One guy who bragged about how he loves hot, asked to keep the habeneros I brought but didn't want any more of my pepper. :(
