What are these things?

Hi gang,

My Thai Dragon plants have been developing what looks like salt or sand on the leaves and stems:

The leaves in the photos look a little wilted, but that's from the afternoon sun and lack of water. They look normal when watered.

Does anyone know what this is? Is it harmful to the plants? Any and all help is much appreciated. :)

Edema - swelling from excessive accumulation of watery fluid in cells, tissues.

Slack off on the water or increase intervals between watering.

I've never seen it on the top of the leaves.

It's a pretty common thing Aji C. I usually see it running along the veins on the underside of the leaf. Never seen it on stems though. It's plant sweat.

Thanks, guys. :)

Maybe I'll go buy some Right Guard and spray it under the leaves...:P

Or better yet...Old Spice! (Look at you plant, now back to me, now back at you plant, now back to me!) ;)
