What Should I Plant in my Aerogarden?

Assuming you had all varieties available, what pepper would you plant in the Aerogarden LED Ultra and why? The lights raise up to 24 inches and there are 7 pods. I was thinking an annuum because they generally are smaller, but a superhot would be more fun. Perhaps I could keep them well trimmed, bonchi style all year round. Also, can you use these to crank out starts and then transplant to soil later with relative ease? This is all new to me but it looks like fun!

I got the Aerogarden extra for Christmas, and am currently using it for germinating wilds. Planning to grow up to 6-8 inches then transplant to a coir mix.

Sounds like a good plan this time of year. Got mine for Christmas too!

For me it would be super hots because they take so long to grow and I have a 90 day grow season. Seen some great things with the aerogarden.

I'd go for Frutescens.
Many are small when mature - Though some are monsters.

A lot are VERY hot but the heat doesn't last long.
Some I'd say are easily hotter than generic Habs.
Problem is you need to research the different ones - some are heat only, others are larger plants while others are hot, taste great and are great looking small plants.
I have several in 4 - 4 1/2 inch pots that are full of buds and podding up.
Some are only a couple (3+) months old from seed.

I'd guess your plants might get bigger in the Aerogarden than in soil.

A great one I'd highly recomend for looks and pod set would be CAP 1546.
Purple buds and pods start out the same color.Leaves are purple veined/dark green.

I see it listed ad a Frutescens and an Annuum.
So you decide.
Looks Frut. to me.At least my current plants.

I'm doing a Frut. grow.
Plants are just budding now and setting pods.

Will probably have isolated seeds soon.

Also will know how big the different ones get in #15 pots (5-7gal. - I think).

I have 5 reapers in my aero right now, all doing well, and will be putting in more peppers in my second aero here very soon !  i'm hoping to keep 2 plants full time in there and try and produce a pod or two !
