What temperature do you start hardening off your plants?

What is the optimal temperature to start hardening off my plants outside? I thought I saw 50 degress but not 100% sure. Thanks!

As long as it stays above 50F at night and warms up nicely during the day I start hardening plants. First they need to stay in some indirect light for a day and gradually increase more light. You biggest problems are sunburn leaves, heavy rains, and wind gusts but soon they will be right at home. Saw your plants in another thread very nice.

+1 on Pepper Ridge Farm.

50° => 60° F is a good temperature range.

I start by having them next to an open window. This helps them adjust to the outside environment at a much more gradual pace. Eventually I bring them out and place them under a tree which helps to reduce the amount of direct sun exposure. I slowly increase the amount sun exposure until they have fully adjusted. This seems to works for me.

Good luck!!
