What's going on here then

the poor plant is screaming for more space, new dirt :(

transplant it to a bigger pot, and fresh dirt, give it some fish, kelp, and Epsom salt then watch it grow really good 
 
looks likes hes dropping the old leaves for new growth. Because  like judy says he doesn't have enough space  / nutrients to support them all in that small pot.
 
Your plant is living paycheck to paycheck and just got fired! The roots can't uptake the nutrients to fulfill the orders of the cells so even older established leaves are having infrastructure depleted to keep up with the demand. 
 
Re-pot, fertilize, water, and throw some epsom at it. (I recommend a foliar spray because the roots need to focus on getting main ingredients to the plant.) I'd also prune off some of the curled up leaves and the pods (plus any severely damaged or yellowed leaves) in order to allow focus on new healthy growth and repair.
