Seems to be crinkling the leaves.

Looks like edema. Could be over watered or not enough air/ventilation.

Yes, edema. Not a big problem, when the plant get bigger its easyer to not water to much. And yes, get a fan.

Will it go away when the cause is fixed or is it permanent?

The affected leaves will always have that issue until they get old and fall off. If you scale back your watering then new growth will not show that problem.
